A Performative Beit Midrash Event

In anticipation of this new year, and in exploration of what theater can help us learn, think, and feel, Gabriella Lev and Yael Valier present Sarah: Text and Presence.
What can three midrashim, each illuminating a different aspect of Sarah, teach us? And how are Sarah and her story connected to the new year? We’ll explore these biblical and rabbinical stories together through interactive theater, text study, and music, in what we’re calling a performative beit midrash.
Sarah is a participatory learning event and an invitation to experience familiar and unfamiliar texts through a performative lens, produced in cooperation with Theater Company Jerusalem.

There are two parking lots on Mesilat Yesharim--one is on the right, 50 meters before the theater, and one is on the left, right opposite the theater. The cheapest parking is available on Rehov Menora, at the Menora parking lot, which is a five-minute walk away from the theater.

Gabriella Lev is founding artistic director of Theatre Company Jerusalem, one of Israel's most distinctive theatre companies. She is a recipient of the Kipod Hazahav Award for Lifetime Achievement, and the Jerusalem Award for Unique Contribution to Cultural Life.
